Rebellion has always been at the core of the spirit of Hublot. When the brand entered the watchmaking arena in 1980, it did so with a never-before-seen combination of a precious gold case and a utilitarian rubber strap. To date, almost every high-end watch brand has tried to equip watches made of precious metals with rubber straps. This combination seems modest by today’s standards, especially among other unusual Hublot creations. However, that first model, conceived by founder Carlo Crocco, paved the way for Hublot to continue to present its unconventional approach over the next four decades.

The Classic Fusion Original collection is Hublot’s homage to Crocco’s creation, offering various iterations of metals and sizes, but always preserving the basic design principles of the first model. The brand has expanded the range with the new Hublot Classic Fusion Original 29mm watch, available in yellow gold or titanium. In addition, Hublot has also added the Classic Fusion 29mm watch to the range, which has a similar design to the Classic Fusion Original, but includes more decorative dials and a choice of diamond inlay.
The design of the watch may not be new, but the diameter of 29 mm is for the first time. These are the smallest versions of the Classic Fusion Original at the moment, along with the 42, 38 and 33 mm cases that debuted in 2023. The miniature 29mm cases are only 8 mm thick. They are designed to be water resistant up to 50 meters. The dial has three hands in the center, the Hublot logo at 12 o’clock, the counterweight logo of the second hand and the date window at 3 o’clock. There are no hour markers or minute tracks, and the date window merges in color with the black disk.

The Classic Fusion Original 29 mm watch is equipped with smooth black rubber straps, which are attached around the wrist using folding clasps corresponding to the case with additional black gold-plated details. The watch is powered by an MHUB2915 quartz movement with a two-year battery life.
The Classic Fusion 29 mm watch has also received a new size, joining the 45 mm, 42 mm, 38 mm and 33 mm cases. The 29 mm cases are 8 mm thick and water resistant to 50 meters. Hublot manufactures these versions in either titanium or 18-carat King Gold (the brand’s signature red gold alloy) and offers diamond-encrusted or smooth bezels without inlay. There is also a luxury King Gold Pavé version, which boasts not only a diamond bezel, but also a diamond case — 158 diamonds in total.

The Classic Fusion 29 mm dials include hour markers, and a smaller logo is used to place them under the 12 o’clock mark. The dial color is Black, Blue, Racing Gray and Green Sunray. The watch is equipped with colored fluted rubber straps with folding clasps made of stainless steel or 18-carat gold. The Classic Fusion 29mm watch uses the same MHUB2915 quartz movement mentioned earlier.
The Classic Fusion Original in titanium (ref. 591.NX.1270.RX.MDM) will be priced at 6,800 USD, while the yellow gold version (ref. 581.VX.1230.RX.MDM) costs 17 500 USD. The Classic Fusion 29mm titanium watch is priced at $6,200, and the addition of a diamond bezel raises the price to $8,200. The price of the Classic Fusion 29 mm watch in King Gold starts at US$15,300, increases to US$17,500 with a diamond bezel and reaches US$23,800 for a diamond-plated model.
