Vacheron Constantin Overseas Self-Winding 35mm

The first Overseas models with a 35 mm case, fully encrusted with diamonds.

On the eve of the winter holidays, Vacheron Constantin presented two new items from the Overseas collection. Considering that the new ones are almost completely covered with diamonds, they can rightfully be called ideal watches for winter holidays.

The first Overseas model with a 35 mm body was introduced in 2023. Like other models from this line, it was distinguished by the special shape of the bezel, the design of which resembles the symbol of Vacheron Constantin – the Maltese Cross. Here it is encrusted with 60 baguette-cut diamonds.

Thanks to the invisible fastening, the stones seem to hover above the metal surface. At the same time, the frame of the gold guides that hold the stones on the watch is almost completely hidden under this precious “carpet”. A tiny V-shaped groove cut into the diamond allows it to be inserted into the guides, ensuring a tight fit of the stone without gaps and visible metal.

The new items received cases made of pink and white gold. The dial in them is covered with 314 diamond-cut diamonds. Another 12 baguette-cut stones serve as hour indexes. This “snow-covered” landscape is rounded off by white and rose gold arrows treated with Super-LumiNova blue luminescent compound.

The diamond at the 3 o’clock mark was reduced in size to include a date window in the composition of the dial. There are sapphire glasses on both sides of the case. The crown is screw-on. Water resistance is 50 meters.

There are 3 ways to wear the watch: with a bracelet made of metal matching the case, encrusted with 884 classic-cut diamonds, a white rubber strap or an alligator leather strap. The model with a white gold case has a blue strap. A fuchsia strap was selected for the model with a rose gold case. The wrist straps are secured with a buckle encrusted with 62 classic-cut diamonds.

The Vacheron 1088/1 automatic calibre is installed inside the watch. The 3.83 mm thick movement consists of 144 parts, operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and provides a 40-hour power reserve. To protect against magnetization, it is packed in a soft iron container. A 22-carat gold rotor is visible through the sapphire glass of the back cover, which is decorated with an engraving with a wind rose in the Overseas models.

The estimated cost of the models is CHF 264,000.
