Audemars Piguet has unveiled its first Royal Oak Selfwinding model with a diameter of 34 mm, made entirely of white ceramic. White ceramics are more difficult to process than black ceramics. AP does not tolerate half measures, so the case must be satin-finished with beveled chamfers, which is difficult to do with a material that is nine times harder than steel.

The case and the bracelet are painstakingly finished with alternating satin surfaces and polished chamfers. This operation is a technical problem due to the exceptional hardness of white ceramics exceeding the hardness of black ceramics.

Following the new aesthetic standards introduced last year, the ceramic bracelet is equipped with invisible pins that are directly embedded in the studs and connect them to the links.

Designed for thin wrists, this model has a 34 x 8.8 mm case and a built-in white ceramic bracelet. The silver dial of the Grande Tapisserie features rose gold hour markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating. The water resistance of the case is 50 meters. Rose gold is also present along the edge of the sapphire glass back cover, through which you can admire the 22-carat rose gold rotor.

Specially designed for the Royal Oak 34 mm collection and released in 2020, the 5800 automatic Calibre operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 half-vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 50 hours. The mechanism is decorated with high-quality finishes, including Côtes de Genève, circular grain, satin finish and sunburst finish.
