Breguet Classique Tourbillon 3358
Abraham-Louis Breguet’s reputation as the greatest watchmaker has not been appropriated in retrospect. It was strengthened during his lifetime due to the fact that he introduced more innovations than anyone else who worked in this field, and developed a unique design language for his creations. Best known for its regulating device called the tourbillon (patented in 1801), the watchmaker’s ingenious “vortex” is used everywhere at Breguet, including for women’s watches. The collection has been expanded with two new Classique Tourbillon 3358 gold models designed to dazzle with diamonds and magnificent views of the tourbillon.
Breguet offers two new versions of its tourbillon in the Classique collection. The manufactory has added two 3358 copies to the Classique Tourbillon collection. This watch impresses not only with the beauty of its dials, but also with the built-in clock mechanism.

Breguet Classique Tourbillon 3358BB/VD/986D0 in white gold immerses in dreams of starry nights. It seems that a rain of diamonds is sliding on the mother-of-pearl dial, decorated with pearls and dark blue lacquer. To add depth, the dial is decorated with a variety of gold stars: sandblasted, polished, and some are decorated with diamonds. The off-center dial ring at 12 o’clock reflects the brand’s DNA in Arabic numerals and gold rhodium-plated Breguet hands, and the serial number is located at 4 o’clock. The dial opens as a curved polished arena at 6 o’clock, revealing the tourbillon in all its splendor. An impressive bow in the shape of a shooting star, decorated with 45 diamonds in the style of a snowy pavé, crosses the tourbillon. In the center, a blue spinel serves as the turning stone of the tourbillon carriage.
The fascinating operation of the mechanism can be observed both on the front and on the back of the watch. The sapphire back cover features a hammered base plate, which is hand-engraved with the Breguet name and the unique identification number of the movement. To add luster, the bezel and ears are encrusted with diamonds, and the crown is decorated with a rose-cut diamond.

The rose gold case Breguet Classique Tourbillon 3358BR/8D/986D0 frames the dial, decorated with 281 diamonds. The gems between 3 and 9 o’clock form elegant curves, and the gems inside the watch ring are fixed using the “snow pinning” technique.
The dial ring at the “12 o’clock” position is made of natural white mother-of-pearl. The Arabic numerals and arrows correspond to Breguet’s own distinctive aesthetic principles, developed by the brand’s founder. The tourbillon, majestically located at the base of the dial, is integrated into a curved and polished oval-shaped aperture and complemented by a rounded gold bar decorated with 14 diamonds.
To emphasize the charming mechanism of the tourbillon, its components play on the contrasts of gray and pink colors. Last but not least, the bezel and ears are decorated with diamonds, and the crown is decorated with a rose-cut diamond. In this rose gold model, the sapphire back cover also allows the wearer to admire the hand-engraved embossed decor.

Two new models of Breguet watches, housed in a 35 mm diameter case, waterproof to a depth of 30 meters, are equipped with a 187 D mechanism, the balance of which fluctuates with a frequency of 2.5 Hz. This manual winding mechanism has a power reserve of 50 hours. Known for its durability and precision, this caliber is equipped with a Breguet steel balance spring.
Both models feature a glossy alligator leather strap in dark blue for the white gold version and crimson red for the rose gold version. Tourbillon was officially born on June 26, 1801, in the scientific and watchmaking business of Abraham-Louis Breguet. His starting point was the observation that the gravity of the Earth is the enemy of the regularity of the clock, as it causes changes in speed every time the clock changes position. To solve the problem of earth’s gravity, the founder of the Breguet house came up with the idea to install the entire trigger mechanism inside a mobile carriage that makes one complete revolution per minute. Thus, the errors were regularly reproduced and neutralized each other. In addition, constantly changing the point of contact of the balance joints in their bearings with precious stones provided better lubrication. These arguments marked the invention of the tourbillon.
Combining purity and sophistication, the Classique collection accurately illustrates the strong aesthetic of the brand’s origins. In addition to his talent as a watchmaker and inventor, Abraham-Louis Breguet was also one of the first designers. He developed and initiated the neoclassical style in watchmaking, an aesthetic vision that gave the dials an avant–garde look and made the watch readings more legible. The two new Breguet Classique Tourbillon models pay homage to the brand’s distinctive features.
