Bulgari Octo Tourbillon Sapphire Blue

Since its introduction in 2012, Octo by Bulgari has introduced a new approach to watchmaking, showing a modern vision. Inspired by the architectural harmony of antiquity, their bold design plays with geometry and light. Volume, complex lines and versatility embody both simplicity and a modern vision of elegance. The Octo Tourbillon Sapphire model with transparent sapphire glass elements has a new octagon-shaped body with modern urban proportions.

Bulgari does not distinguish between form and content. The task of modeling shapes and finding aesthetic balance is designed to create functionality. Octo Tourbillon Sapphire sheds light, emphasizing the beauty of the mechanism, imbued with an innovative, modernist approach.

The novelty is presented in a 44mm stainless steel case with black DLC coating. The watch’s dial and back cover are transparent. The BVL 206 manual winding mechanism is complicated by a tourbillon and fixed in the center of the watch using eleven DLC-coated bridges.The bridges are decorated with rods made of ITR2, a unique composite material with luminescent properties. Bridges are also used as hour markers, thus serving both to support the mechanism and for functional purposes when reading hours and minutes.

One click on the crown highlights a red dot in the microaperture at 3 o’clock, signaling that the time can be set by normal rotation of the crown. As soon as the operation is completed, further pressing will cause the dot to disappear and the time setting mechanism to lock. The watch is equipped with a rubberized black alligator leather strap and a DLC-coated steel clasp.
