Starting with the 1995 film Goldeneye, the Omega has become James Bond’s official watch. In this film, actor Pierce Brosnan wore an Omega Seamaster 300M Professional Quartz with a blue dial with a distinctive wavy pattern. This model and all of its modern iterations have been nicknamed the “Bond Watch.” Based on the recently updated Seamaster Diver 300M, Omega presents a limited edition for dedicated 007 fans and celebrates the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969).

Omega and James Bond’s partnership began with the movie Goldeneye (1995), and since then the world’s most famous spy has worn a Seamaster watch in every subsequent film. The watch plays a huge role in the movies as Bond’s main accessory. They serve as the metal-cutting laser in Goldeneye, the detonator in Tomorrow Never Dies, and the bomb fuse countdown device in Spectre.

Not only are watches featured in movies, they’re also available to the general public, without movie gadgets… unfortunately. The Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Master Co-Axial LE for Spectre and Seamaster 300 Spectre Limited Edition models are featured in the watchmaker’s regular collection.

Omega has unveiled a new watch in honor of the 50th anniversary of the 1969 film about Her Majesty’s Secret Service. This film, the sixth in the series and the only one starring George Lazenby, remains one of the most popular and unique in Bond. Aston Marin also celebrated this 50th anniversary with a special edition DB11 as a tribute to the series in which Lazenby was driving the car.

Omega used the coat of arms of the Bond family with the motto “Orbis Non Sufficit”, which can be translated as “The world is not enough”. The new Seamaster Diver 300M is based on the classic steel model, with a slightly enlarged body, a new ceramic dial with a return of the iconic pattern and a new Master Chronometer mechanism. Despite the evolution, the watch remains recognizable.

The case, made of brushed stainless steel, has a diameter of 42 mm and a helium outlet valve for 10 hours. The scale on the ceramic rotating bezel is made of white enamel. The novelty comes on a black rubber strap with a steel buckle. A stainless steel bracelet is also included in the special package.

So what is the uniqueness of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty’s Secret Service? An 18-carat yellow gold plaque with an engraving of each unique limited edition number was placed on the side of the Omega case. A total of 7,007 copies were produced.

18-carat yellow gold was also used to create hands and hour markers, including the pointer on the 12 o’clock, which is inspired by the coat of arms of the Bond family. On the seventh day of each month, the number 7 in the date window is displayed in the same font as the 007 logo. There is also a hidden number “50” on the 10 o’clock indicator, which can be seen at night against the background of Super-LumiNova.

The black dial of the Seamaster Diver 300M is made of ceramic. It has a spiral motif. Under the transparent back cover of the sapphire glass case is the 8800 Omega Master Chronometer Caliber with a balanced frequency of 25,200 pcs/hour and a power reserve of 55 hours. It features all of Omega’s classic innovations such as coaxial escapement and antimagnetic properties up to 15,000 gauss.
Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty’s Secret Service (reference 210.22.42.20.01.004), will be presented in a special black box. The set price is 6,100 euros.
