NEW 2023 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

An enduring legend

The Cosmograph Daytona model, an ideal example of the iconic watch, has gained popularity far beyond the race tracks due to its emblematic aesthetics and excellent technical characteristics.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the legendary chronograph, Rolex decided to review the entire range so that its story could be continued. Both the exterior design and the mechanism itself have undergone a thorough rethink. Numerous innovations vividly remind us that the pursuit of excellence is an endless race.

Striving for perfection is an endless race

Updated display

The watch features a new graphical balance dial with reinterpreted hour markers and counter rings, presented in new sizes. Thanks to the exquisite combinations of colors and finishes that emphasize the contrast between the dial and the counters and/or their rings, the Cosmograph Daytona watches of the new generation feature an even more modern and harmonious design.

Updated case design

The updated case creates an elegant play of light on the edges of the housing ring. In versions with Cerachrom ceramic bezels, a canvas made of the same metal as the case stands out.

950 platinum and transparent back cover

In the 950 platinum version, recognizable by its silver-blue dial, the inertial weight is made of 18K yellow gold and is open to the eye thanks to the transparent sapphire back cover of the watch case ‑ a real sensation in the Oyster Perpetual collection.

Platinum is the most noble of all metals, it is remarkable for its amazing brilliance. This rare precious metal is among the densest and heaviest and has unique physical and chemical properties, for example, extremely high resistance to corrosion. Rolex uses a 950 platinum alloy, consisting of 950 parts (thousandths) of platinum with a certain dose of ruthenium. It is manufactured with the utmost care within the walls of the company.

Calibre 4131

The Cosmograph Daytona model has a 4131 caliber. This new chronograph movement, designed and manufactured by Rolex, is based on the 4130 caliber. The caliber, introduced in 2023, includes the latest technical innovations from Rolex: the Chronergy movement stroke to reduce energy loss, the Paraflex shockproof system to protect the movement, and an inertial load with an optimized ball bearing for greater automatic winding efficiency.

This caliber demonstrates new aesthetic solutions: an openwork inertial load and the exclusive Rolex Geneva stripes pattern on the bridges, inspired by the legendary finish in the style of traditional Swiss watchmaking.

Silver‑blue dial – With chronograph counters

Features of this model: dial: silver‑blue; spiral‑shaped counters; 18-carat gold hour markers and hands with Chromalight indication using high-definition luminescent substance.

While the smooth central second hand measures the time with an accuracy of 1/8 of a second, the counters display the hours and minutes of elapsed time. Thanks to this, the racers can precisely control the passage of each segment of the track

Tachymetric scale – Top-class Chronograph

The ceramic bezel with a molded tachymeter scale is a key element of this model, which allows you to measure speeds up to 400 miles or kilometers per hour. The Cerachrom one-piece bezel is made of particularly durable ceramic, resistant to corrosion and scratches. In addition, this high-tech material does not change its color under the influence of ultraviolet rays.

The incredible durability is combined with the excellent readability of the tachymeter scale, which is marked by filling the recesses with the thinnest layer of platinum using PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technology. The one-piece Cerachrom bezel securely holds the glass on the case, thus ensuring water resistance.

Platinum is the most noble of all metals

Platinum, a rare precious metal, is remarkable for its silvery whiteness and vibrant luster. It is one of the densest and heaviest metals and has unique physical and chemical properties, for example, extremely high resistance to corrosion.

At the same time, platinum is a very soft, plastic material, which means that its machining and polishing require the highest skill. Rolex uses a 950-grade platinum alloy consisting of 950 parts (thousandths) of platinum. It is manufactured with the utmost care within the walls of the company. A noble material for a noble watch.

Oyster bracelet is the perfect combination of shape and functionality

The development, manufacture and testing of Rolex bracelets and clasps is impossible without advanced high technology. As with any other component of the watch, the visual inspection carried out by the master guarantees its impeccable appearance.

The Oyster bracelet is a perfect combination of shape and functionality. Created in the late 1930s, this durable and comfortable metal bracelet made of three wide and flat links is still the most common in the Oyster watch collection.
