Embodying the exquisite vision of Vacheron Constantin luxury sports watches, Overseas originates in the model 222 from 1977, designed in honor of the brand’s 222nd anniversary. After a major redesign in 2016, the brand released the third generation Overseas with many complications and a universal system of interchangeable straps and bracelets. The tourbillon complication was included in 2019. After the steel, white gold and rose gold releases, Vacheron announces a new version made entirely of titanium.
Titanium, which is 30% stronger than steel and weighs only half its weight, is not new to the Overseas family and has been used in limited editions in the past. Two special Overseas Everest series for mountaineer Corey Richards were made using titanium elements combined with other materials. In 2002, the brand offered the first fully titanium skeletonized Overseas Tourbillon model, the first in the collection and the predecessor of this year’s model with a closed dial and a tourbillon aperture.

The Overseas Tourbillon 2024 is made of titanium, from the case to the integrated bracelet and from the crown to the bezel. Although titanium is not the easiest metal to process, it gives the watch a sportier, more technical look. Special attention was paid to the contrasting finish, which emphasizes the geometric shapes of the case. The 50 m waterproof case has a diameter of 42.5 mm and a thickness of 10.39 mm.

Blue is the flagship color of the Overseas family. The dial is covered with a translucent blue lacquer that changes from dark blue to light blue depending on the lighting. The overhead indexes and hands in white gold are treated with Super-LumiNova blue compound, and there is a double minute scale on the flange. The large opening at 6 o’clock accommodates the tourbillon carriage.
Powered by an ultra-thin 2160 caliber with a thickness of only 5.65 mm, the 22-carat gold peripheral rotor provides a power reserve of 80 hours. Finished to high VC standards, the mechanism is decorated with circular grain, a Côte de Genève pattern on the bridges, beveled and polished screws and a hand-polished tourbillon rod.

Overseas Tourbillon comes with an integrated titanium bracelet equipped with a triple folding clasp. It can be replaced without tools with a blue calfskin strap or a blue rubber strap included in the kit. Overseas Titanium Tourbillon will be available exclusively at Vacheron Constantin boutiques.
