New items from 2022 Van Cleef & Arpels

Extraordinary objects

Van Cleef & Arpels occupies a prominent place in a rare and little-known area: precious objects and automata. The new unique creations combine aesthetic sophistication with noble materials and a mechanical mechanism dedicated to the magic of the moment. These machines display the time, inviting you to dream.

Automatic planetarium

The automatic Planetarium demonstrates the Sun and some planets of the Solar system. Each celestial body moves according to its actual rotation speed, and the Moon rotates around the Earth in a celestial ballet. The House paid special attention to the choice of materials, combining a wide variety of precious and ornamental stones. Great crafts and the feeling of diving into space evoke unique emotions.

Fontaine aux Oiseaux automaton

The Fontaine aux Oiseaux machine with on-demand animation and retrograde clock display demonstrates a touching scene. Two birds wake up and begin courtship: They sing as they move towards each other, and a water lily opens its petals in the pool, releasing an elegant dragonfly. Many of the problems associated with this work have been solved through a continuous research process combined with the expertise of master virtuosos.

Rêveries de Berylline automaton

The Rêveries de Berylline slot machine recreates a blooming flower to show a hummingbird taking off to the sound of a sweet melody. This product highlights artistic crafts such as stone cutting, polishing, decorative stone carving and varnishing, as well as rare materials such as red porphyry and lapis lazuli, which form the base, or precious stones that adorn the bird. This extraordinary object creates a charming scene reminiscent of the eternal movement of nature.

Poetic Complications®

The Poetic Complications® watch represents a unique vision of time in which craftsmanship and technical prowess combine to bring stories to life. Their intricate Swiss-made mechanisms provide precious moments of emotion imbued with the characteristic style of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Lady Arpels Heures Florales

Inspired by the concept of a flower clock, invented by Carl von Linnaeus in 1751, the Lady Arpels Heures Florales watch offers a poetic representation of the passage of time thanks to a special module that opens and closes the 12 corollas on the dial. Timing turns into a spectacle as the flowers bloom and close, updating the decorations every 60 minutes. The clock reminds of summer in delicate blue and green tones, and the leaves and flowers create a subtle contrast with the background of white mother-of-pearl.
