Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillion in a rose gold case

A new tourbillon inspired by the history of the Zenith manufactory.

In 2022, Zenith introduced the first watches from the Defy Skyline collection. The new line, inspired by the 1969 collection, embodied Zenith’s vision of what a versatile urban-style watch should be. This fall, as part of the Defy Skyline collection, the company introduced a new tourbillon model, in the design of which you can see a neat reference to the history of the Zenith manufactory.

The watch received a 41 mm case made of rose gold. The complex geometry of the case is emphasized by the contrast of polished and satin surfaces. As with previous versions of the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon, the watch’s dial is decorated with a pattern of repeating four-pointed stars that radiate from the tourbillon’s aperture at the bottom of the dial.

In this model, the dial is designed in a deep brick red shade, which is no coincidence. The chosen shade is a reference to the brickwork of the historic manufactory building in Le Locle. To match the case, the watch is equipped with a set of hands and hour markers made of rose gold, which are treated with Super LumiNova phosphor for better readability.

The operation of the watch is provided by the caliber El Primero 3630, fully developed in Zenith’s own production. This self-winding movement operates at a balanced frequency of 5 Hz and provides a power reserve of 50 hours. The mechanism features an ultralight 0.25 carat tourbillon carriage and decor with references to the pattern on the dial.

The movement’s surfaces are decorated with embossed laser engraving with Geneva waves, which, like the stars on the dial, radiate from the tourbillon. The rotor with an element in the shape of an openwork star, as well as the body, is made of rose gold.

It is suggested to wear the watch on an integrated rose gold bracelet with H-shaped links. The set also includes a brick-red rubber strap that perfectly matches the tone of the dial. Thanks to the intuitive quick-change system, the bracelet and strap can be easily replaced without using special tools.

You can buy the new product in Zenith boutiques and online stores around the world, as well as from selected authorized distributors. The estimated cost of the model is €97,400 or $93,300.
