Breguet Marine 9518 and Marine Chronograph 5529

The words “modern” and “sporty” are difficult to apply to the Breguet, except for those inspired by the Type 20 aircraft. The Marine collection is as close as possible to a collection of luxury sports watches inspired by the brand’s long-standing maritime connections. Introduced in 1990 and updated over the decades, the Marine sports collection from Breguet features two models with precious stones: a 42.3mm chronograph in white or rose gold and a 33.8mm feminine watch with stainless steel time and date display.

The last update of the Marine collection took place in 2018 and included the release of the Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527. The latest models, made in cases of precious metals and titanium, are available in 18K white or rose gold measuring 42.3 x 13.85 mm with a water resistance of 30 m and a characteristic fluted pattern that can be found on the case ring of all Breguet watches. The new Marine Chronograph features 90 baguette-cut diamonds set in the bezel. Compared to other types of cutting, baguette cutting is more masculine.

The craftsmen use manual guilloche in the center of the dark blue dial to create a dynamic wavy pattern. The two chronograph counters smoothly intersect. The date window with the blue background corresponding to the dial is tilted to the 4:30 position. Eight hour markers are represented by baguette-cut diamonds set in gold frames; the remaining gold Roman numerals XII, III, VI and IX are applied to the dial ring and treated with luminescent material. The flyback 582 QA automatic chronograph movement is installed inside the Marine Chronograph 5529. The power reserve is 48 hours. The watch comes with a dark blue leather or rubber strap with a triple folding clasp. The cost is 140,700 euros.

The Marine time-and-date watch features eight diamond markers framed in white gold, with three luminous Roman numerals in the form of a pennant on III, IX and XII. They operate on a thin automatic Breguet 591A caliber with a power reserve of 38 hours. Both watch models are equipped with integrated stainless steel bracelets with three links and a folding clasp with three blades.
