On the occasion of the international Watches & Wonders fair, the Hublot brand and Takashi Murakami present two digital works in the format of a non-interchangeable NFT token, based on the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami
Hublot and Takashi Murakami open new creative horizons with the release of two digital works in the NFT format. They are based on the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black and Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow models, the first watches created by the Swiss watchmaker and the famous Japanese artist in 2021. Both limited editions of 200 and 100 copies were sold out in a few days.
A new episode of creative collaboration with Takashi Murakami took the form of two static NFT tokens containing an image of a flower with a mischievous smile, which became an emblematic theme in Murakami’s works and the Superflat style he created. The first NFT, based on the All Black version, will be released in a limited edition of 216 copies, and the release of the second, reproducing the color scheme of the exclusive Sapphire Rainbow model, is limited to 108 copies. First of all, these NFT digital works are addressed to the owners of the two limited–edition watch models mentioned above – they will receive them for free. Information about watch owners is easily verified through Hublot’s electronic warranty and protection system (this system was developed by Hublot as part of LVMH’s global anti-corruption and product lifecycle control policy. Hublot’s electronic guarantee is stored in the AURA blockchain). At the request of the watch owner, the free NFT due to him can be placed in his eWallet electronic wallet. In May, Hublot will open a page on the decentralized market of non-interchangeable tokens, where owners will be able to exchange their NFTs.
The release of NFT by Hublot and Takashi Murakami will be supported by a very creative promotional campaign based on the principles of “guerrilla” marketing. After the presentation at the Watches & Wonders salon in Geneva, advertising posters will suddenly appear in London and New York, with the simultaneous organization of large-scale light projections on famous buildings.
In May 2022, a limited edition of these NFT tokens will be released, which everyone can purchase. Follow our news.
“Our collaboration with Takashi Murakami has led us into the field of digital art, an area of creativity in which Hublot was the first among watch manufacturers to show interest. From now on, NFT tokens will be an indispensable part of our “Hublot loves art” creative environment.”
