The stylish combination of white gold and gray-blue adds sophistication to the practical Aquanaut GMT watch. Patek Philippe has released a new version of the popular Aquanaut Travel Time model in white gold with a gray-blue dial and matching strap. Introduced in 1997, the Aquanaut proved that there is life beyond the legendary Nautilus sports watch. More sporty and casual than the Nautilus, the Aquanaut was conceived as a multi-purpose sports watch and featured a textured rubber strap that mimics the embossed dial pattern. In 2011, Patek equipped Aquanaut with its first complication, launching Aquanaut Travel Time.

The GMT function is indicated by an additional skeletonized hour hand. The additional date dial at 6 o’clock is indexed by local time, and there are two day/night indicators for local and home time. Another practical feature of Travel Time is the user-friendly buttons on the left side of the case for adjusting the local hour hand in one hour increments backward or forward.
The case retains the distinctive rounded octagonal bezel, accentuated by a vertical satin finish and a wide polished chamfer that is repeated throughout the case. The white gold case with a diameter of 40.8 mm and a thickness of 10.2 mm is equipped with a screw-down crown, but somewhat contradicts its status as a sports watch due to its meager water resistance of 30 m.

The grey-blue dial features Aquanaut’s signature embossed mesh pattern, which continues on an integrated composite rubber strap with a patented white gold folding clasp. The white gold numbers and hands are treated with a white luminescent coating.
Under the sapphire glass aperture on the back of the case is a Patek 26-330 S C FUS automatic caliber powered by a 21-carat gold rotor. The 31 x 4.82 mm movement has a frequency of 4 Hz and provides a maximum power reserve of 42 hours for local and home time indication, central second hand, day/night indication for local and home time and date combined with local time. The new Aquanaut Travel Time 5164G in white gold is priced at 62,600 euros (including tax).
