New from Piaget: Limelight Gala Precious

Two new items in hand-engraved gold cases, shining with gradient inlay of branded asymmetrical ears.

Piaget has long been known as a master of creating avant-garde jewelry watches. In 1973, the brand introduced an elegant watch with an oval-shaped case, asymmetrical ears and a textured gold bracelet. Jean-Claude Gait created this watch and later it became known as Limelight Gala.

On the eve of spring, the line with the same name has been updated with two new products.

Both models received 32 x 10 mm rose gold cases and a radically different design.

The first one is distinguished by the famous Décor Palace engraving, which Piaget actively used in the 1960s. It is performed manually using a sharp-tipped chisel. In this case, on the dial and on the bracelet. The output is a pattern of asymmetrical horizontal stripes that resembles rough tree bark or textured fabric.

Another highlight of the model is the bezel, which smoothly flows into elongated asymmetrical ears.

This part of the watch is encrusted with 42 diamonds of white and cognac colors, fixed on the metal with a gradient, i.e. a smooth color transition.

The fastening technique is called serti descendu. One of the features of this technique is that at the final stage, “excess” metal is removed from the mounting grooves and legs so that light can penetrate the stone from the sides, and not just from above.

The second model features a bright orange hot enamel dial. Here, the hot enamel is complemented by a technique that creates an imitation of snake scales on the dial.

A similar scale is engraved on the model’s bracelet.

The dial shines framed by white diamonds and sunset-colored spessartites.

Both models are equipped with an ultra-thin 501P1 automatic caliber manufactured by Piaget.

The movement is only 3.6 mm thick and provides a 42-hour power reserve.
