Silver-blue dial, “rice grain” decor
Modern interpretation of traditional watch design
The “rice grain” decoration of the dial is made using the Guilloche technique, which consists in engraving a regular geometric motif on its surface with a chisel. If such a finish is one of the classics in watchmaking, then the motif resembling a stained glass rosette coming from the counter of the small second hand at 6 o’clock gives this watch an unparalleled personality. By introducing the Guilloche watch face, Rolex continues the tradition started by the Perpetual collection: to pay tribute to classical watchmaking by enriching it with its own know‑how and creative finds.
