Rolex Sky-Dweller

Compared to other Rolex collections, Sky-Dweller is a relatively new addition to the family, first introduced in 2012. The dual time zone feature, designed to meet the needs of travelers, allows you to track time in two different time zones simultaneously. Sky-Dweller has always been notable for displaying an annual calendar that can distinguish between 30-day and 31-day months. The Sky-Dweller collection continues to impress aesthetically thanks to new additions in several case and dial materials – black, mint green and blue-green – and a slightly updated movement.

The new Rolex Sky-Dweller movement is equipped with a Chronergy trigger mechanism and a new rotor with an optimized ball bearing. The power reserve is about 72 hours. It uses the patented blue Parachrom spiral and Paraflex shock absorbers, as well as all the functions of the mechanism, providing greater accuracy and resistance to shocks and magnetic fields. Another characteristic technical feature of all Sky-Dweller watches is the Ring Command system, which combines a rotating bezel, crown and mechanism for safe and convenient selection and adjustment of watch functions.

The new white Rolesor Sky-Dweller watch with a mint-green dial is complemented by an Oystersteel steel bracelet with five links; the Everose models with a blue-green dial have a gold Oyster bracelet with three-piece solid links, and the watch with a black dial is equipped with an Oysterflex strap made of elastomer.

The profile of the new Sky-Dweller remains the same: the models are among the most compact offered by the brand, with a diameter of 42 mm and a thickness of 14 mm, accommodating the complex inner workings of the most complex Rolex dial. The screw-down crown is equipped with a Rolex Twinlock system and provides water resistance up to 100 m. Hidden in the fluted bezel is a patented Ring Command system that links the movement, crown and bezel, allowing you to quickly select and easily adjust each of the watch’s functions.

All indexes are printed on the dial and have an abundant Rolex Chromalight glow, and immediately behind the markers are the indicators of the annual calendar, which Rolex calls Saros: the red marker moves along the periphery to show the month of the year. The corresponding wand tube is partially hollow to provide a perfect readout of the second time zone.

Sky-Dweller has become one of the most sought-after Rolex models, beloved by travelers and watch collectors. The combination of innovative features and classic Oyster-inspired design has made them an attractive and important part of the Rolex offering with various options and prices.
