Zenith Chronomaster Revival Daisuke Jigen Edition

The fourth model in the series dedicated to the popular manga Lupin III.

In 2019, Zenith released the CHRONOMASTER A384 “Lupin The 3rd” watch. The model was inspired by a watch worn by Daisuke Jigen, a character in the popular anime series Lupin III. Since then, two more models have been released in this series. This fall, a fourth watch was added to the Japanese-themed watch trilogy.

The anime adaptation of the popular manga Lupin III was first released in 1971, just 2 years after the most iconic watch in the history of the Zenith brand, the El Primero chronograph. This series quickly became a cultural phenomenon not only in Japan, but all over the world. Given the fact that Japan is one of Switzerland’s largest export markets, and anime is loved in many countries, it is not surprising that Zenith has been releasing watches on this topic for several years.

The novelty received a 37 mm case and brushed titanium with micro-jet treatment. The beige dial is complemented by contrasting black counters and a black tachymeter scale. The hands and the overhead hour markers on the dial are coated with Super-LumiNovabeige composition, which gives the watch a warm vintage look.

The new model is based on the El Primero 400 calibre, a direct descendant of the mechanism that powered the first El Primero chronograph. Fully designed and manufactured by Zenith, this mechanism operates at a balanced frequency of 5 Hz, counts down to tenths of a second, and provides a 50-hour power reserve. The exquisite finish of the movement, which includes more than 300 parts, is visible through the sapphire back cover. The latter is decorated with the silhouette of Daisuke Jigen.

The watch is available on the iconic ladder bracelet, which was developed in 1969 by Gay Freres exclusively for the Zenith brand. The main feature of this bracelet is the open central links, which alternate with the standard links. The bracelet’s design, reinterpreted in brushed titanium, provides the wearer with lightness and comfort, combining classic design with maximum ergonomics.

The new product will go on sale worldwide on November 26, and until then it will be available only at the ZENITH pop-up boutique in the Japanese city of Shinjuku (ISETAN Shinjuku). The model is limited to a series of 200 copies. The estimated cost of the watch is JPY1,430,000 or CHF10,400.
