Breguet Tradition Automatique 7097 Boutique Edition

Watches like the new Breguet Tradition Automatique 7097 Boutique Edition can be used to explain the difference between Haute Horlogerie watches and regular luxury watches.

Breguet watches are the epitome of excellence in watchmaking. It’s much more than just expensive accessories. They are a pure expression of noble watchmaking, an amazing balance of ingenuity, technique and craftsmanship.

Characterized by an original design in which the components of the mechanism are displayed on top of the main plate, the Tradition collection has been expanded with a new design version of the Tradition Automatique Seconde Retrograde 7097 with a blue guilloche dial. This new model will be exclusively available in Breguet boutiques.

Inspired by the iconic watch, this watch, like the rest of the collection, recalls the genius of Abraham-Louis Breguet, who first invented the single-hand pocket watch in 1796.

Paying homage to these amazing creations of the greatest watchmaker of all time, Tradition Automatique 7097 reveals the bridges, wheels, escapement, drum and other components of the mechanism, which are usually hidden under the main plate.

The handmade guilloche pattern by clous de Paris enhances the blue gold dial, offset from the center to the 12 o’clock mark. The hours and minutes are shown by hands with an openwork Breguet-style tip made of stainless steel with a rhodium coating. The retrograde seconds indicator is set at 10 o’clock in the form of a semicircle superimposed on the dial. This element is visually balanced by a shock protection system at the 4 o’clock mark.

Made of 18k white gold with a fluted side, the 40 mm diameter case accommodates a 505SR1 automatic movement operating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and a power reserve of 50 hours. The golden rotor borrowed its style from antique Breguet watches. It features an inverted linear release lever with silicon pellatons and a Breguet silicon balancing spring to ensure maximum precision.

Combined with the blue leather strap, the new Breguet Tradition Automatique Seconde Retrograde 7097 Boutique Edition 7097BB/GY/9WU is available at a price of 35,700 euros.
