Ulysse Nardin has released the lightest diving watch

The weight of the new product, presented on Watches & Wonders, is only 52 grams.

As part of the Geneva Watches & Wonders 2025 watch Salon, Ulysse Nardin has unveiled the lightest mechanical diving watches. Together with the strap, the Diver Air model weighs 52 grams. Without the strap, the watch weighs 46 grams, which is comparable to the weight of 10 sheets of A4 paper.

Visually, the Diver Air is virtually indistinguishable from the standard Diver X Skeleton models. The model is based on the manufactured UN-374 caliber, assembled on the basis of the UN-372 caliber. The mechanism with a balanced frequency of 3 Hz weighs only 7 grams, while it works for 90 hours at full factory. The plant’s system is a variant of the Magic Lever system, the design of which refers to a caliber based on the Lemania mechanism, released back in the 1990s.

The impact resistance of the new product has been tested with a load of 5000G. The structure of the titanium bridges of the mechanism has been redesigned by 90%, in simple terms, the maximum “excess” metal has been cut off from the bridges and platinas. To reduce the weight of the watch even more, the design of the winding drum was redesigned, removing the upper bridge from it.

The balance spiral node has also been recycled. The balance sheet has a silicon frame with inertial weights and a silicon spiral with a flat end curve. The trigger mechanism is also made of silicon.

The case is 44 mm in diameter and has a multicomponent design. The middle part is made of titanium. The sides are made of carbon composite, which is 60% recycled fishing nets and 40% carbon fiber (carbon fiber). The bezel with graduated diving scale is also made of recycled carbon fiber. The water resistance of the case is 200 meters.

The watch is equipped with an elastic fabric strap, which adds a bright touch to the somewhat boring design. The estimated cost of the model is €38,400 (including 21% VAT).
